Terms and Conditions

1. Subscription & Payment

Platehound offers four account types with different levels of access:

Promotional Rates:

• Bronze & Silver: $1 for the first month, then standard pricing.
• Gold: $3.50 for the first two months, then standard pricing.

Monthly payments are non-refundable once processed.

If a user cancels or suspends their subscription, they will not be charged in subsequent months unless they renew their plan.

2. Account Registration & Cancellation

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

If you cancel your plan, access continues until the end of the billing period.

Users who suspend their subscription automatically downgrade to the Unpaid plan.

3. Service Limitations & Disclaimer

We strive for accuracy, but cannot guarantee plate availability or successful reservations.

• Availability is checked based on your plan — up to once per day.
• DMV records may change outside our checking window.
• You must complete plate reservations directly on your state DMV site.
• Manual checks exceeding 10 per day are not permitted.
• Service currently limited to users within the United States.

4. User Responsibilities

While Platehound provides plate guidance, users are responsible for ensuring their desired plate complies with DMV rules in their state.

Platehound is not responsible for DMV administrative decisions or rejections due to content or formatting.

Even if shown as available, a plate may still be rejected by a DMV.

5. State Availability

Our service is expanding gradually, and some states may not yet be supported.

We provide updates via email — please ensure you’ve opted in through your account settings if you’d like to receive them.

6. Intellectual Property

All content and materials provided through the Service are owned or licensed by us.

You may not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the Service without prior written consent.

Only subscribers and authorized affiliates may use any part of Platehound for personal or commercial purposes.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without any warranties, express or implied.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the latest version.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States of America.
